Race Details

There is no pre-requisite of competing or finishing any trail running event to participate in any of the five race distances.
 
All participants of the 30km race should ideally be experienced in trail running, be  skilled and have trained to undertake a trail running event. Minimum age 15yrs at 24 January 2025. The course is physically demanding and traverses along remote sections of the property that can result in slower first aid / rescue response times. The course is made up of a combination of 4WD farm tracks, narrow single track, gravel roads and rocky riverbed sections that are rough under foot.

The 20km race is very similar 30km race, Minimum age 15yr at 24 January 2025. Although slightly shorter and adapted for faster running on less rough ground. All participants of the 20km race should be experienced in trail running and have trained sufficiently to endure a course of this nature
There is no requirement for prior trail running experience for participants of the 10km  or 5km trail races. Please note the 10km course includes a 300m climbs, Both the 10km and 5km races are open to walkers, we ask out of consideration for others you begin at the back of the starting group.

It is a participants responsibility to ensure you are physically fit enough to complete the distance you have entered and monitor your health and condition during the event, including knowing when to withdraw from the event if you are no longer fit enough to continue.

Race Insurance

We have partnered XCover Refund Protection Program and all participants who register for Feel the Burn will be given the option to take out refund protection during your online registration. Those that opt for protection will be protected against unforeseen circumstances which include things such as accident, injury, illness, weather disruption and family emergencies. All customer refund requests are managed and handled by XCover. Please note that the XCover Refund Protection Program can only be added when you enter the event. Please ensure you refer to the full policy and terms and conditions when you sign up.

REQUEST A RACE INSURANCE CLAIM:
The refunds are managed by a third party via XCover and you can submit a refund request by clicking "Request a refund" from your Refund Protection confirmation email (sent from XCover!).  If you are not able to find this email, please email admin@craigieburntrut@gmail.com

Transfers & Cancellation

Athletes can request to transfer their entry to a lesser or greater race distance up until 17th January 2026, subject to the following terms: 

  • Transferring to a greater distance: Where an athlete requests to transfer to a greater distance and space is available, the athlete is required to pay the difference in entry fees between the two distances. 

  • Transferring to a shorter distance: Where an athlete requests to transfer to a shorter distance and space is available, the difference in entry fees will not be refunded.

  • Athletes can transfer their race entry to someone else up until 8:00pm on the 17th January 2026

  • We do not offer transfers to future events, athletes can formally transfer their entry to someone else within the same distance event already entered.

As stated in the Athlete Waiver, under no circumstance are you permitted to give your bib to another person. The safety of our athletes is paramount, therefore we need to ensure we have correct details of all our athletes on course.


CANCELLATION:
The organisation reserves the right to cancel the event. If the event has to be cancelled or postponed due to reasons beyond the control of the event organisers (including a Force Majeure event, COVID-19, any other pandemic or due to government imposed restrictions), no refunds will be offered and all entries will be automatically deferred to the 2027 event.
